A $1.9 million office building on a vacant lot on the west end of downtown Moose Jaw led building permit values in October.
The building at 665 Ominica Street West was of 15 permits issued and brought total monthly value to $2.63 million.
Other major commercial permits were $200,000 for show room alterations at Western Dodge; $20,000 for a retail spot at Superstore; and $25,000 to alter an accounting office at 75 Hochelaga Street West.
Building values year to date are down 19.5 per cent to $73.9 million, with residential single family housing decline about one -third of the decline.
To date only 13 single family residences worth $4.07 million have been started compared with 26 worth just over $10 million last year.
Only one home worth $241,000 was started in October with three worth $1.09 million started in October 2021.
