205 new COVID-19 cases, 176 recoveries

There are 205 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Mar. 22, 2021.

The new cases are located in the Regina (102), Saskatoon (28), North Central (13), South Central (12), Far North East (11), North East (9), Central East (7), South East (7), North West (6), Far North West (4), Central West (1), and South West (1) zones.  

All 12 of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Four new cases are pending residence information.

There are no new deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 418.

There are now 31,842 reported cases, including 1,476 active cases.  

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 159 (13.0 new cases per 100,000).  

As of Mar. 22, there are no new confirmed variants of concern (VOC) cases to report. There are 156 confirmed variants of concern cases in Saskatchewan, including 149 B1.1.1.7 (UK) and seven B1.351 (SA). There are three cases of B1.1.1.7 (UK) and one B1.351 (SA) in the South Central.

In addition to the confirmed cases, there are currently 748 presumptive VOC cases reported in the Regina (640), South Central (42), South East (39), Saskatoon (18), Central East (8), and Far North East (1) zones.

An additional 4,344 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 144,171.

The 4,344 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered in the following regions: Regina (3,116), Saskatoon (489), Central East (348), Far North West (277), and South East (114). Of the doses administered March 21, 2,362 were delivered at the Regina drive thru clinic. This marks the highest one-day total for vaccine delivery at the drive-thru location.

One hundred forty-three people are in hospital. One hundred and fifteen people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Regina (42), Saskatoon (41), North West (7), North Central (6), Central East (6), South Central (5), Far North West (3), South East (3), Far North East (1), South West (1). Twenty-eight people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (15), Saskatoon (10), Central East (2), and South Central (1).

One hundred and seventy-six more people have recovered, increasing the provincial  total to 29,948 recoveries.

There were 2,814 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Mar. 21. To date, 633,275 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.
