200 new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths reported, 108 recoveries

Three Saskatchewan resident who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Two deaths were reported in the Far North East zone, including one in the 60 to 69 age group and one in the 80-plus age group. One death was reported in the 30 to 39 age group from the North Central zone.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 417.

There are 200 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Mar. 20, 2021.

The new cases are located in the Regina (91), Saskatoon (29), South East (18), North Central (14), Central East (12), South Central (12), North West (9), Far North West (6), North East (5), Far North East (2), and Central West (2) zones.  

Nine of the 12 new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Six previously reported cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Regina (5) and North Central (1) zones.

There are now 31,459 reported cases, including 1,434 active cases.  

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 134 (11.0 new cases per 100,000).

An additional 8,766 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 133,828. To date, this is the highest one-day total for vaccine delivery in the province.

The 8,766 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered in the following regions: Regina (2,860), South East (1,597), Saskatoon (1,111), Central East (1,008), Central West (775), South Central (667), Far North East (281), South West (220), Far North West (148), North East (53), North Central (24), North West (12), and Far North Central (10). Of the doses administered Mar. 19, 2,019 were delivered at the Regina drive thru clinic location alone.

As of Mar. 20, there are no new confirmed variants of concern (VOC) cases to report. There are 156 confirmed variants of concern cases in Saskatchewan, including 149 B1.1.1.7 (UK) and seven B1.351 (SA). There are three cases of B1.1.1.7 (UK) and one B1.351 (SA) in the South Central.

In addition to the confirmed cases, there are currently 590 presumptive VOC cases reported in the Regina (504), South Central (38),  South East (28), Saskatoon (13), Central East (6), and Far North East (1) zones.

One hundred thirty-five people are in hospital. One hundred and eight people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (42), Regina (37), North West (6), North Central (6), Central East (6), South Central (4), Far North West (3), South East (2), Far North East (1), and South West (1). Twenty-seven people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (14), Saskatoon (9), Central East (3), and South Central (1).

One hundred and eight more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 29,608 recoveries.

There were 3,581 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Mar. 19. To date, 627,752 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
