Moose Jaw Women Who Care Zoom fundraising and awareness event coming up

Zoom into helping others by tag-teaming with your friends

Women Who Care (WWC) (previously known as 100 Women Who Care) are community-minded women who raise funds and awareness for services within the community.

“Our purpose is to build awareness and link people to their passion,” Nicole Lillico, Chairperson of the WWC.

This year, due to the pandemic, WWC is hosting a Zoom fundraiser and awareness event for Moose Jaw Family Services (MJFS) who have provided crucial services to the people of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area since 1972. You are invited to gather with other women in the community on Wednesday, October 6th from 7 to 8 p.m. to help MJFS fulfill their mission of serving the community.

MJFS Executive Director, Brenda Zinn will be speaking about their vital work and how their services are helping the well-being of families from seniors, parents, teens, children and infants.

MJFS works to help people grow and become independent by offering programs designed to aid young parents, counselling, family support, resume writing skills, independent living skills, and more.

Please register for the Zoom event as an individual for $25, or for a $100 donation, you can get your gal pals together and have up to a four-person team. Each registration will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a prize donated by Jillian’s Designs on Main Street. To register, please send an email to: 100wwcmj@gmail.com

Last year’s WWC group event raised funds and awareness to help “SquareOne Community” in Moose Jaw whose goal is to support and advocate for those facing homelessness. This group is focused on health, life skills and building personal independence.

Women Who Care is continuing to invest in the future of Moose Jaw.

“Building strong, healthy people leads to building a strong, healthy community. Individually that sounds impossible but together we, the women of Moose Jaw working collaboratively, can impact the organisations in our city with feet on the ground doing the work. By providing financially we can be part of building an even better Moose Jaw!”

Women Who Care will be doing more fundraising and awareness events with dates for February 10th and May 5th of next year.
