Scotland’s Bruce Mouat is the defending world champion heading into the 2024 World Men’s Curling Championship later this month.

The cat is essentially out of the bag, and all that’s needed is final confirmation on Friday morning.

A special press conference has been called by Curling Canada in Regina at 11 a.m., with the announcement expected to see the World Men’s Curling Championship coming to Moose Jaw in 2025.

All times, dates and other information will be unveiled on Friday.

The World Championship will mark the first time an event of that calibre has been held in Canada’s Most Notorious City and will bring thousands upon thousands of visitors to the community next spring.

The 2024 Men’s Worlds are taking place in Schaffhausen, Switzerland from Mar. 30 to Apr. 7, and curling fans in Moose Jaw can expect to see their event around the same time.

Moose Jaw has hosted the Scotties Tournament of Hearts women’s Canadian championship on two occasions in 2015 and 2020 in addition to the Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship last spring and again this year at the end of March.

Scotland’s Bruce Mouat is the defending champion heading into the 2024 tournament, having defeated Canada’s Brad Gushue 9-3 in the final last spring.

Be sure to check back on Friday morning for all the particulars from the Curling Canada announcement.
