Tammy Wong was enjoying a day to herself when she decided to check a couple lottery tickets. The Moose Jaw resident scanned her Lotto 6/49 ticket and discovered she won $100,000 on the Aug. 19 Extra draw… but at first, her eyes only registered a $10 prize.

“I didn’t have my glasses on,” she laughed. “I can’t believe it – I really thought it was $10! I had to take a minute to count all the zeroes one-by-one.”

Wong purchased her winning ticket on the day of the draw from FranzMichel Lotto Sales, located at 500 1st Ave. NW in Moose Jaw. She checked the ticket on the Lotto Spot app the following day.

The winner said she has started to think of a few ideas for her windfall but isn’t rushing to make any big decisions.

“I’m going to pay some bills to get started,” she explained. “But I think mostly, I’m just going to try to relax and be happy every day.”
