Moose Jaw EMS provide support for train-truck collision near Rouleau

The collision occurred on a grid road on Highway 39, about two kilometres east of the town of Rouleau. The driver of the semi-truck was killed in the incident.

Moose Jaw EMS provided assistance to the Milestone RCMP during an incident where a semi-truck collided with a train on Highway 39.

The collision occurred on a grid road on Highway 39 on Sept. 18, about two kilometres east of the town of Rouleau, according to a news release. The semi-truck had one adult driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He was declared deceased on scene by EMS.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

A Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist, Occupational Health and Safety and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service also attended the scene. The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the CP Police Service.

The Rouleau Fire Department also provided assistance in the matter.

Highway 39 is not blocked at this time.
