A delayed shipment may affect some Saskatchewan residents who have already booked vaccine appointments.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) learned yesterday that an expected shipment of 21,300 Moderna vaccines will be delayed up to six days. This delay is allegedly due to an issue with the manufacturer and is outside the SHA's control.
Some appointments that have already been booked will be affected. In a news release, the SHA says it is still assessing the situation and will notify impacted patients directly next week to reschedule their appointments. A further public announcement is expected early next week.
Patients do not need to take any action at this time. Appointment booking eligibility remains unchanged.
