The Moose Jaw Police Service says the individuals, both males were arrested in Moose Jaw this week.

The MJ Police reported that, as a result of the investigation, Ahmed Jibril Osman was arrested outside of a business in the zero block Thatcher Drive East on Sunday, January 27 by members of the Police Service.

The investigation continued and the second male suspect, Abdi Kafor Mahamud Hirsi, was arrested by the RCMP Emergency Response Team during the early morning on Monday January 28 at a South Hill apartment building. A restricted handgun was located during the search of Hirsi’s apartment.

It is reported that Hirsi had a Canada-wide arrest warrant issued from previous charges in Edmonton that ranged from kidnapping to numerous firearm related charges.

Meanwhile, Hirsi attended Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Tuesday to face firearm charges relating to the possession of a restricted firearm located in his suite.

He will be returned to Edmonton to face further charges regarding the Edmonton Police Service investigation that led to the Canada-wide warrants being issued.
