Mini doughnuts, games and rides, oh my! Hometown Fair kicks off today

The fair kicks off tonight with a parade downtown starting at 7 p.m. Be sure to bring a lawn chair and find a comfortable place to sit for an entertaining evening.

The smell of mini doughnuts and other deep-fried food will start wafting around the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds on Thursday afternoon as the annual Hometown Fair opens its gates for another year of fun and frivolity.

The gates open at 3 p.m. tomorrow and close at 10 p.m. In between those times will be dozens of events, from kids' activities to a petting zoo to comedy shows to canine feats to magic tricks and even fire shows. This schedule will be roughly similar on Friday (3 to 11 p.m.), Saturday (noon to 11 p.m.) and Sunday (noon to 8 p.m.).

The fair kicks off tonight with a parade downtown starting at 7 p.m. Be sure to bring a lawn chair and find a comfortable place to sit for an entertaining evening.

The Moose Jaw Express visited the fair grounds earlier this morning before the crowds arrived, so enjoy some pictures of what to expect during the next couple of days.
