The event is being run by Access7 Sports out of Regina and features games played on the Playstation 4 video game MLB The Show 20. The team uniforms have been faithfully modelled and teams are randomly drawn from current Major League Baseball rosters before each game.
The Express lost their opener to the Swift Current 57s but stayed alive with a win over the Yorkton Cardinals in their first ‘B’ side game back on July 15.
Friday night’s contest – the broadcast of which kicks off at 7 p.m. – will have an extra Miller Express flavour to it, as former manager Michael Hunt will be joined by graduated infielder Geordie McDougall as special guests for the show.
The winner of the contest will advance to the ‘B’ side final, where they’ll take on the loser of the ‘A’ side final between the Weyburn Beavers and Swift Current 57’s on July 29. The winner there will advance to the WCBL #SaskSummerSim final on July 31.
