Last week, Norway released the song, "Moose Truce" as a way to broker peace with the City of Moose Jaw over the battle for the world's largest moose.

This past weekend a response was sent. The song, titled "No Way Norway," lets our European neighbours know exactly how Canadians feel about a proposed truce.

The song was written and recorded by Nova Scotia's Dave Carroll. You might remember Carroll and his band, Sons of Maxwell, from their 2009 viral hit, "United Breaks Guitars."

In a Facebook post, Carroll said they support the City of Moose Jaw in the bid to help Mac regain his crown as the world's largest moose.

Craig Hemingway, communications manager with the City of Moose Jaw, says the song is a fantastic response to Norway's effort, noting it "proves how this story really has touched on Canadian pride across the country."

He adds the city was not involved with Carroll's track.

It has certainly been a big week in Mac the Moose-related news. This past Friday Mayor Fraser Tolmie appeared on BBC News to discuss the issues alongside Stor-Elvdal vice-mayor Linda Otnes Henriksen. Tomie remained steadfast that Moose Jaw would not back down in this dispute. However, it was also noted that Henriksen would be visiting Moose Jaw soon.
