Letter to the Editor: Freedom Convoy

I don’t usually acknowledge letters that I don’t agree with but there comes a time.  I am so tired of this freedom convoy saying that they are representing Canadians. They are not! They are representing people who are consistently unhappy with the current government and any excuse to protest their feelings they will do so. The majority of Canadians will do their protesting in a proper manner with a protest that doe not involve setting up a camp, blowing their horns to disrupt others who actually LIVE THERE and disrupting their livelihoods. You don’t like the government – VOTE.  And if you don’t get your choice LIVE WITH IT UNTIL THE NEXT VOTE. I am embarrassed that these convoy people had a platform on our news channels. I am ashamed that the world may think most Canadians agreed with this occupation. An endorsement by Americans like Tucker Carlson, Ted Cruz and Marjorie Taylor Greene is not what most Canadians would relish as an endorsement. I will never change the minds of people that believe in unlawful behaviour but I just want you to watch the news and see how much freedom you would have if you set up your tent and bouncy castle in Red Square. You wouldn’t have to worry about your rights, you wouldn’t be seen again. Wake up and look at things you could change in a different way than causing destruction and harm to others. We all pay for the damage you caused.
