The playground program group at the Summer Games Playground rolled up their sleeves and dove into entrepreneurship with a lemonade stand fundraiser this afternoon.
Setting up just outside the spray park, the excited group taped their homemade sign up on the building and settled in to wait for some customers. The last lemonade stand they attempted had a few stragglers stop by, so they are really hoping to see some more traffic this go around.
All the money they collected had a very specific purpose: to put towards a pizza party for the group.
With about 40 regularly-attending kids in the park program, that’s a lot of pizza.
The delicious lemonade will be available for $1 until around 3:30 p.m., when the camp program will start cleaning up for the day. So make sure you stop by the Summer Games Playground — on the corner of Coteau St. and 16th Ave SW — and help the kids get closer to their pizza-focused goal.
