Is your community worthy of being named ‘Hockeyville?’ Now is the time to prove it!

Kraft Heinz Canada, in partnership with the NHL and the National Hockey League Players’ Association, is now accepting nominations for Kraft Hockeyville 2020.

Now in its 14th year, Kraft Hockeyville encourages communities across the country to rally together. It is not just about the love of hockey though — it is also about getting funds for much-needed upgrades to local hockey rinks.

This year’s grand prize winner will get to host an NHL pre-season game, along with receiving $250,000 for arena upgrades. Three other finalists will be awarded $25,000. Additionally, these communities will receive $10,000 to purchase new hockey equipment for local minor hockey programs, thanks to the NHLPA Goals & Dreams Fund.

To date, Kraft Hockeyville has awarded $3.5 million to 81 communities. A total of 13 NHL pre-season games have been held in eight different provinces.

Moose Jaw Minor Hockey did make a submission last year but was unsuccessful. The community of Lafleche was a finalist in 2018 and received $25,000. Last year’s winner was Renous, N.B. Renous hosted a pre-season game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Florida Panthers this past fall.

Nominations will close February 9th at 11:59 p.m. EST.  Visit krafthockeyville.ca for more information.
