Parents, prepare for that grocery trip to the Co-op to take a bit longer this Sunday, because the Co-op will have its Kids Carnival set up in the parking lot that is sure to entice your youngsters into staying for a while.
Running from 12 to 4 p.m., the carnival will feature all kinds of fun activities for the kids to take part in — an entire parking lot’s worth of activities.
In true carnival fashion, there will be classic games like a ring toss, football toss, basketball, and a beanbag toss, as well as bouncy castles and cotton candy. There will be a petting zoo and motorized jeeps for the more adventurous.
The Moose Jaw Warriors will have their Kids Zone mini rink set up, and will be around to play games — with mini sticks, of course — with the kids. The Moose Jaw Police and Moose Jaw EMS will also be on scene giving tours, and Guerilla Games has agreed to stop by with their portable video game trailer.
The event will be packed full of things to do, and the Co-op wants everyone to be able to take part — so punch cards for the activities and food tickets are all priced at $1. Each punch card is good for 10 activities.
“Nothing is priced for more than a dollar, so it’s a really affordable event, for families to come out to,” said Michaela Turner, marketing and community relations manager for Moose Jaw Co-op.
The Kids Carnival is an annual event put on by the Co-op for their customers, and although it's been missing for a few years, Turner and the staff at the Co-op are excited to see it come together again.
“We’re really excited to bring it back and have lots of people to attend,” said Turner. “It’s been a lot of planning and work to make it our best one yet, and to make it an awesome day that families can enjoy.”
The event is open to the public, and the Co-op encourages kids to sign up for a free Co-op Kids Membership, which will be available to do the day of the event.
“This is a fun way to bring the kids out, to get the families involved, and just show appreciation to our members and our community,” said Turner. “We’re excited to host everybody here and it should be a great day.”
