Joint investigation leads to multiple arrests for possession of guns, drugs

Multiple people have been arrested as part of a joint investigation.

On June 11, the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS), in partnership with the RCMP and the Provincial Integrated Crime Reduction Team, conducted a joint investigation into alleged firearm trafficking.

The RCMP Emergency Response Team conducted a search warrant on a residence in the 1000 block of Iroquois St. West. 

This resulted in the following charges:

  • Ryan Buckton of Moose Jaw has been charged with trafficking firearms and possession of cocaine;
  • Joseph Moses of Moose Jaw has been charged with trafficking firearms;
  • Skip Rutledge of Moose Jaw has been charged with improper storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of cocaine; and
  • Brandon Gariepy of Moose Jaw has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possessing firearm when prohibited, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime over $5,000 and breach of release order.

Police add that an arrest warrant has been issued for Kailyn Fletcher of Moose Jaw for unlawful possession of a firearm, possessing firearm when prohibited, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime over $5,000 and breach of release order.

Through this investigation, police seized two handguns, a shotgun, 20 grams of cocaine, 84 grams of methamphetamine and 84 grams of fentanyl. Police also seized $10,000 in Canadian currency.

Those arrested were released and will appear in court at a later date.
