RCMP have released details of the two-vehicle collision on the afternoon of April 20, which resulted in one fatality.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., RCMP responded to a collision approximately two kilometres north of Moose Jaw on Highway 2. One vehicle, travelling north, collided with a semi-tractor trailer travelling south.

The 29-year-old female driver of the north-bound vehicle was declared dead on scene. The semi driver did not sustain any injuries. Neither vehicles had any passengers.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor, and RCMP are continuing the investigation.

Highway 2 was closed while EMS, Moose Jaw Fire Department, RCMP, and the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol attended the scene, later joined by Saskatchewan Coroners Service, Ministry of Highways officials and a Saskatchewan RCMP traffic reconstructionist.

Highway 2 was reopened to traffic by 9:30 p.m. on April 20.
