On Monday Greg Lawrence was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party candidate for Moose Jaw Wakamow for the 2020 provincial election. He is the current MLA for the constituency and was elected in both the 2011 and 2016 provincial elections.

“Thank you to all of the Saskatchewan Party members here in Moose Jaw Wakamow,” said Lawrence in a Sask Party release. “Representing this constituency is a terrific honour and I am looking forward for the opportunity to keep working on your behalf.”

Lawrence currently serves as the Government Whip, sits on the Cabinet Committee on Human Services, serves as Legislative Secretary for the Minister of Social Services, and is a member of the House Services Committee and the Privileges Committee. He is also Saskatchewan’s Military Liaison.

There are now 23 Saskatchewan Party candidates nominated for the 2020 provincial election.

Moose Javians are still waiting to hear who will join Lawrence as the city's other Sask Party candidate. Back in January, Moose Jaw North MLA Warren Michelson announced he will not be seeking re-election. Meanwhile, local lawyer Tim McLeod has already announced he is seeking the Saskatchewan Party nomination for the constituency.
