Four new COVID-19 cases in La Loche, 14 more recovered

There are only four new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan today, all of which are located in La Loche

There are four new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewa, all of which are located in the northern community of La Loche. 

This brings the provincial total to 568 cases, with 199 considered active. 

Fourteen more recoveries are also being reported, for a total of 363. 

There are currently 11 people in hospital due to COVID-19 related illness, and 8 are receiving inpatient care while three are in intensive care. 

Of the total 568 cases in the province, 138 are travel-related, 288 are community or household transmission related, 66 have no known exposures, and 76 are still under investigation by Public Health. 

In Saskatchewan, 48 cases are healthcare workers, although transmission is not confirmed to have happened in a health care capacity.

On a regional level, 197 of the cases are from the Far North, 163 are from the Saskatoon area, 105 from the North, 76 from the Regina area, 15 from the South, and 12 from the Central region.

There have been no new deaths due to COVID-19 since April 29, when the sixth fatality in the province was reported.

A total of 37,439 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.

The outbreak in Lloydminster hospital reportedly continues to be stable, and the city is proceeding with Phase 2 of the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan.
