1)  A man grabbed a knife from a supermarket shelf and stabbed six people inside a shopping centre south of the Italian city of Milan, killing one person.

2) The head of the Ontario Provincial Police is defending comments he made about the "Freedom Convoy" posing a threat to Canada's national security despite the head of intelligence for the force contradicting that.

3) Canada's police chiefs are urging the federal government not to rely on resource-strapped police forces to carry out a planned gun buyback.

4) Up to a quarter of federal government employees are still experiencing problems with their pay because of the troubled Phoenix pay system, and the government might be running out of time to collect on overpayments of $500 million.

5) The airline industry is warning that flight disruptions will be unavoidable this upcoming Christmas travel season as an ongoing labour shortage drags on.
