The City of Moose Jaw is advising residents and visitors that the intersection of Main Street and Thatcher Drive is scheduled to be repaved from Aug. 20-24.

Beginning on Aug. 20, the work will be completed in one phase with extensive traffic accommodations and detouring. Traffic will be re-routed along the west service road and around Diefenbaker Drive.

Traffic will continue to have access to the northeast service road and businesses on the south side of Thatcher Drive, but barricades will block the entrances to the Thatcher Drive and Main Street intersection.

The entire project will take roughly five days to complete, weather permitting. All businesses in the area will remain open while the project is completed.

The city asks all drivers to obey posted signage and slow down in work zones for the safety of everyone. Alternate transit routes will be in place, and three locations will be affected for the duration of this project:

  • East Service Road/Thatcher Drive will be closed
  • West Service Road/Thatcher Drive will temporarily be moved 40 metres west from the construction
