First powered flight took place 110 years ago today

An important moment in Canadian aviation history
110 anniversary powered flight
Robert W. Bradford has captured an historic moment in Canadian history with his striking depiction of J.A.D. McCurdy lifting the Aerial Experiment Association’s Silver Dart of the ice at Baddeck, NS on 23 February 1909— with Dr. Graham Bell, standing in the red sleigh, looking on. Today, February 23 marks the 110th anniversary of the first powered flight in Canada by J.A.D. McCurdy.

This was truly an historic milestone. Given the relationship between the City of Moose Jaw and 15 Wing, it is certainly a noteworthy historic event.
