The action might not have been furious at the inaugural Aurora Wind Feeds/BUCKEYE Nutrition Barrel Slot Race on Saturday evening, but it was absolutely, most certainly, fast.
Some of the top riders from western Canada descended on the local rodeo area for the high-stakes barrel racing event, featuring a total of $75,000 in prizes and a $10,500 payout to the overall champion
Among the 150 elite riders taking part were Calgary Stampede barrel racing champion Bertina Olafson and reigning SBRA provincial champion Angela Tapp, who won her title at the Golden Mile Arena two weeks ago.
