When you're in a work zone, the risk of hurting yourself and others is high. Slow down, obey signs and watch for workers.

MOOSE JAW — The City of Moose Jaw advises that Phase 10 of the Infrastructure Renewal Program (including water main replacement) is progressing as the project reaches week 17.

Phase 10 includes the replacement of approximately 1.4 kilometres of cast iron pipe and 700 meters of feeder main at the following locations:

  • Coteau Street W from 8th Avenue SW to 4th Avenue SW
  • 6th Avenue SW from Coteau Street W to Grandview Street W
  • 4th Avenue SW from Coteau Street W to Duffield Street
  • Fairford Street W from Main Street N to 4th Avenue NW

The 300 block of Fairford Street W is now open, marking the completion of Infrastructure Renewal for Fairford Street W this year.

Work continues on Coteau Street W from 4th Avenue SW to 8th Avenue SW, with the intersections currently closed at 4th Avenue SW, 5th Avenue SW, 6th Avenue SW, and 7th Avenue SW.

The 600 through 700 blocks of Coteau Street W are expected to reopen on Saturday, Aug. 30 (weather permitting). The 6th Avenue SW intersection will be opened at this time. Minor upgrades to pedestrian ramps will still be needed in the area and will be completed at a later date.

Transit Route 4 – Westmount stops at Coteau Street W & 5th Avenue SW and Coteau Street W and 4th Avenue SW will remain closed, while service will be restored to all other stops for Route 4 – Westmount with the reopening of the 600 through 700 blocks of Coteau Street W. Passengers are encouraged to continue reading bus stop signage to find the next closest available stop.

Drivers are reminded to obey all temporary traffic signage and exercise caution in construction zones to keep everyone safe. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.

The City will continue to issue weekly updates as the program progresses. For a full list of the 2025 water main replacement locations, along with full details on the program visit moosejaw.ca/watermain- replacement/.
