The scent of freshly cooked chili will fill the Legion this Saturday morning when the annual chili cookout sponsored by the Moose Jaw Elks Lodge will happen.
“We're having a chili challenge,’’ said spokesman Sam Morrison.
“Bring in your cooked chili. For $10 dollars you get to try all the chili entries’’ and get big bowls of your favourite ones.
“It's a fundraiser for us and a fun time at the same time. We try not take it too seriously. ”
He would like to see more people coming in off the street to eat the chili.
Usually they get between 10 and 12 entries.
Chili cooks entering should call Bonnie at 306-631-0830. Entries should show up at the lounge by 11 a.m. with chili being served at noon.
Two prizes will be awarded. One is the people's choice and one is the best selected by the three judges —Greg Lawrence, Kelly McElree and Ron Walter
“It will end just in time for the Legion meat draw.”
