As predicted, technical difficulties at the Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory on Tuesday have impacted the daily COVID numbers. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA)  said yesterday that delayed reporting would affect today's numbers.

As a result, there are 129 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan, as of Nov. 5.

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (55), North Central (30), Regina (13), North West (10), Far North West (6), Central East (4), South Central (2), Far North East (1), Central West (1), South West (1), and South East (1) zones.

Location information is pending for five new cases.

One of the new cases in the South Central is in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

The techinical difficluties on Tuesday resulted in fewer cases reported yesterday. Following the validation of these samples, nine positive results were identified. The SHA says that, due to the timing of the reporting of laboratory results, these nine cases will be counted in Nov. 6 case numbers.

One case with pending residence location from Nov. 3 was determined to be an out-of-province resident and has been removed from the Saskatchewan count.

There are now 3,536 reported cases, including 877 active cases.

Thirty-two people are in hospital. Twenty-seven people are receiving inpatient care — one in the Far North West zone, three in North West, eight in North Central, 10 in Saskatoon, and five in Regina. Five people are in intensive care — one in North Central, three in Saskatoon, and one in Regina.
