The drive-through vaccine clinic in Moose Jaw has reopened for the first time since April, allowing eligible residents to receive a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Operating from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. today, the drive-through clinic is delivering Moderna vaccines to individuals eligible for either their first or second doses.
First dose eligibility is currently open to residents aged 20 or over, or priority groups who have the required eligibility letter or proof of employment documents.
Second dose eligibility, which began today, is open to residents aged 85 or older, or who received their first dose of the vaccine before Feb. 15.
Public health is currently providing second doses to match the brand of the first dose received, which means individuals who received the Moderna vaccine as a first dose and meet eligibility criteria may attend today’s clinic in Moose Jaw.
The drive-through is located at the South Hill Fire Hall, at 750 Lillooet Street West, and those attending are reminded to enter the queue from Home Street West and 4th Avenue SW.
Walk-in clinic availability will be returning later this week, with Moose Jaw's location opening May 19-21. The clinic, located at the Exhibition Grounds at 250 Thatcher Drive, will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all these dates, delivering first and second-dose vaccines to eligible residents.
On May 19-20, the walk-in clinic will be delivering Pfizer BioNTech vaccines and Moderna vaccines on May 21.
Anyone who has booked an immunization appointment but attends a walk-in or drive-through clinic is also reminded to cancel their booked appointment, to ensure immunization clinics are able to operate at peak efficiency.
