Premier Scott Moe announced that the eligible age range for booking COVID-19 vaccine appointments will be lowering twice this week, with the end goal of reaching residents aged 40 and older by Friday.
Beginning on April 28, the eligible age range will lower to include residents aged 42 years and older across the province, and anyone aged 30 years and older living in northern communities.
Effective April 30, the eligible age will lower again to reach residents aged 40 and older and all eligible workers identified as a priority. Moe had previously announced that the age range would be lowered to 40 years and older on April 28.
Priority groups that will be added to the vaccination plan beginning Friday include emergency workers like police, firefighters, and frontline healthcare workers, as well as public health inspectors, teachers and educational staff working with students.
Individuals in priority groups will need to provide a proof of employment letter, a copy of their professional license and a paystub no older than March 1 of this year.
Booking for all eligible residents will be available online and by phoning the Vaccine Call Centre at 1-833-SASKVAX (1-833-727-5829).
