COVID-19 outbreak declared at Viterra offices in Moose Jaw, several schools

Public health issued notice of a COVID-19 outbreak at the administration office of Viterra in Moose Jaw on Feb. 15.

According to public health, an outbreak is confirmed when two or more individuals who are linked to a public setting or event test positive for COVID-19. 

The Viterra outbreak is the third currently active in the city, joined by an outbreak at the medical office of Dr. Fauzi Ramadan declared on Jan. 25 and an outbreak at Xpert Rail Consulting on Jan. 31.

Several schools in Moose Jaw are also reporting COVID-19 cases, including one case at Prince Arthur School on Feb. 10, as well as one case at Peacock Collegiate and two cases at Palliser Heights School, all on Feb. 3.

Contact tracers will be in contact with anyone who may have been exposed in relation to the outbreak. 

Public health reminds residents to continue to practice the recommended safety measures and contact HealthLine 811 if COVID-19 symptoms appear.
