A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Prince Arthur Community School in Moose Jaw

Public health has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at Prince Arthur Community School in Moose Jaw, making it the second school-related outbreak currently active in the city.

According to public health, an outbreak is confirmed when two or more individuals who are linked to a public setting or event test positive for COVID-19.

Prince Arthur declared an outbreak on May 27, although no details are currently available about the number of cases reported in the elementary school.

The last active outbreak declared was at Chillers Pub & Grill on May 15, and several previously listed locations have been removed from the active outbreaks list, leaving a total of eight still active.

Outbreaks that are still considered active in Moose Jaw include Moose Jaw Families for Change declared on May 6, South Hill Fine Foods and Chez Nous senior care home on May 2, Simpson Seeds on April 20, and the locomotive shop at Moose Jaw CP Rail on April 13.

St. Michael's Elementary School also remains on the outbreak list, initially declared on April 28. 

Contact tracers will be in contact with anyone who may have been exposed in relation to the new outbreak. 

Public health reminds residents to continue to practice the recommended safety measures and contact HealthLine 811 if COVID-19 symptoms appear.
