COVID-19 outbreak declared at McDonald’s, positive case at Peacock in Moose Jaw

Public health has added a McDonald’s restaurant location in Moose Jaw to the provincial list of active COVID-19 outbreaks.

According to public health, an outbreak is confirmed when two or more individuals who are linked to a public setting or event test positive for COVID-19. 

The McDonald’s located on Thatcher Drive has been declared the site of an outbreak on April 23, joining six other active outbreaks in the city. 

Gibson Energy refinery in Moose Jaw and Simpson Seeds listed outbreaks on April 20, the CP Rail locomotive shop in Moose Jaw on April 13, Accent Massage & Hairstyling on April 6, and Main Street Strength & Conditioning on March 30. 

Cornerstone Christian School is still listed as an active outbreak as well, declared on March 21.

A.E. Peacock Collegiate high school has also reported a new positive COVID case on April 22.

Contact tracers will be in contact with anyone who may have been exposed in relation to the new outbreaks. 

Public health reminds residents to continue to practice the recommended safety measures and contact HealthLine 811 if COVID-19 symptoms appear.
