COVID-19 outbreak declared at Chillers Pub & Grill in Moose Jaw over weekend

Chillers Pub & Grill has been declared the site of an active COVID-19 outbreak in Moose Jaw

Public health has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at a restaurant in Moose Jaw, making it the eleventh outbreak currently active in the city.

According to public health, an outbreak is confirmed when two or more individuals who are linked to a public setting or event test positive for COVID-19.

Chillers Pub & Grill declared an outbreak on May 15, the first since Moose Jaw Families For Change on May 6. 

Also still on the active outbreaks list is South Hill Fine Foods and Chez Nous senior care home which declared outbreaks on May 2, Moose Jaw SARCAN on April 27, the McDonald’s restaurant on Thatcher Drive on April 23, the administrative sector of Rockport Carrier on April 21, Simpson Seeds on April 20, and the locomotive shop at Moose Jaw CP Rail on April 13.

Central Collegiate high school and St. Michael School also remains on the outbreak list. Central initially declared an active outbreak on May 2, and St. Michael on April 28. 

Central has since moved entirely to online learning after new cases were reported last week.

Contact tracers will be in contact with anyone who may have been exposed in relation to the new outbreak. 

Public health reminds residents to continue to practice the recommended safety measures and contact HealthLine 811 if COVID-19 symptoms appear.
