The much-needed rainfall has prompted the City of Moose Jaw Fire Department to lift the fire ban within city limits, which was put into place May 22.

The risk of fire due to dry conditions is no longer a concerning issue, although the Fire Department reminds citizens to continue being aware of fire safety and practice safe fire habits.

Fire pits and outdoor fire pits must always be contained in a non-combustible container that is less than 30 inches in any dimension, and be covered with a metal grate.

Citizens are also reminded to never leave a fire unattended, have a method to extinguish it on hand, and be sure to put it out when you are finished with it to avoid accidental ignition.
