Charitable gaming grants to provide more than $76K to Moose Jaw groups

Groups and organizations across the province have benefited from the province’s charitable gaming grant program, including several groups in Moose Jaw.

The government is providing more than $900,000 in grants to Saskatchewan groups.

"Charitable gaming grants provide a financial boost to volunteer groups and organizations across the province," Minister Responsible for Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority Jim Reiter said. "Their work helps to enhance local communities in many different ways and our government is proud to provide this additional support to more than 300 groups and organizations."

A breakdown of the local groups receiving funds and the amounts is as follows:

  • Moose Jaw Cheer Infinity Fundraising Inc.: $403.28
  • Moose Jaw Church of Our Lady Parish: $169.54
  • Moose Jaw Father Francis Lawless Knights of Columbus #1534: $ 4,709.75
  • Moose Jaw Fraternal Order of Eagles #3395 Ladies Auxiliary: $471.66
  • Moose Jaw Moose Jaw Kinette Club: $ ,299.38
  • Moose Jaw Moose Jaw Kinsmen Club: $10,278.25
  • Moose Jaw Moose Jaw Miller Baseball Booster Club Inc.: $672.50
  • Moose Jaw Moose Jaw Shrine Club: $7,501
  • Moose Jaw Moose Jaw Warriors Booster Club: $45,234.07

The quarterly grants paid by SLGA are based on a percentage of net proceeds raised through licensed charitable gaming activities such as bingos, raffles, breakopen tickets, Texas Hold'em Poker and Monte Carlo events. Charitable gaming reports submitted by groups as part of their charitable gaming licence are used by SLGA to automatically calculate grant amounts.
