You will soon have an excellent opportunity to let someone know you are thinking about them.

Beginning today, Canada Post will start sending blank, prepaid postcards to 13.5 million homes across the country.

You can mail the card to anyone in Canada for free.  You do not need a stamp to send the card. They can be mailed through any street letter box or community mailbox, or taken to a post office.

Six versions of the postcard are being sent out, with each offering a message of love, appreciation or thanks. Every household will receive one randomly selected postcard.

“Meaningful connection is vital for our emotional health, sense of community and overall well-being,” says Doug Ettinger, President and CEO of Canada Post in a press release. “Canada Post wants everyone to stay safe, but also stay in touch with the people who matter to them.”

The postcards are part of the “Write Here Write Now” program, which was launched in September 2020 as a means of encouraging Canadians to use letter writing to connect in a heartfelt way.
