Canada Day in Moose Jaw

Information about the Canada Day fireworks and a rally starting at 12 noon on July 1

In light of recent events, The City of Moose Jaw stands in solidarity with Cowessess First Nation and the entire Indigenous Community and encourages the people of Moose Jaw and area to join In the Standing In Integrity – Canada Day Rally hosted by Our Home and Native Land (an unaffiliated group) at 12:00 noon tomorrow, Thursday, July 1. The rally starts at 220 Main Street North and the group will walk toward Athabasca Street.  
 
The flag at City Hall will be lowered and the City Hall clock tower will be shining in orange lights.  
 
The Canada Day fireworks will again be held in the evening at Hamilton Flats. Based on the forecast, Jacki L’Heureux-Mason, executive director of Tourism Moose Jaw, speculates the fireworks will start at approximately 10:30 p.m.  

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: a minute of silence will be observed about seven to 10 minutes following the start to remind individuals of this tragedy. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL during this time and DO NOT HONK YOUR VEHICLE HORNS or create any unnecessary noise.       
 
The City of Moose Jaw is on Treaty 4 Territory, and residents are urged to move forward with open hearts and minds to understand the truth of the past and work towards reconciliation.
