Canada Day festivities draw thousands to Crescent Park

Vendors and groups of all stripes take part in ‘living library’ throughout day, offering dozens of neat activities for young and old alike

It seemed only fitting that after seeing the popular Canada Day activities in Crescent Park cancelled due to the pandemic the last two years, folks were able to enjoy a beautiful day in the sun with plenty to do on Friday afternoon.

Thousands of people young and old took advantage of the sunny and warm day to take in the wide variety of activities, with the offerings on hand bolstered by a ‘living library’ format. Organizations from throughout the city set up different stations in the park, offering activities, delicious food and information about what they’re all about.

Dozens of groups took advantage of the opportunity, making for a fun day for everyone looking to celebrate Canada’s birthday.

And once folks had a look at what was on hand, they could head on over to Park Art at the library and check out some of the items up for sale at that popular event.
