UPDATED: Police investigating death after finding body near Ninth Avenue bridge

As of 6:10 a.m., the Moose Jaw Police Service has closed the Ninth Avenue Bridge until further notice. There is no danger to public safety.

UPDATE 2: On May 22 at about 4:30 a.m. officers responded to what was initially thought to be a minor incident of an abandoned vehicle on the Ninth Avenue Bridge.

Following a search of the area, officers discovered an adult male on the ground beneath the bridge. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Moose Jaw Police Service continues to investigate the incident in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroner's Service.

At this point in the investigation, foul play is not suspected.

Police do not plan to make any further comment at this time.

UPDATE 1: The police have now reopened the bridge.
