BREAKING: Police charge two people with manslaughter for body found in Stadacona Street home

Police and EMS responded to an incident on March 30 around 2:30 a.m. at a residence in the 0 block of Stadacona Street West, where they discovered the body of a man.

The Moose Jaw Police Service has charged two individuals with manslaughter in relation to a recent suspicious death.

Police and EMS responded to an incident on March 30 around 2:30 a.m. at a residence in the 0 block of Stadacona Street West. They discovered the body of a man whom they pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement’s initial investigation determined that the death was suspicious.

Police have now released more information about the situation. 

In a news release, the police service says the death of a 25-year-old male was a homicide after he was found with a gunshot wound at the apartment building. Officers have arrested and charged two people with manslaughter, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and breach of court orders.

A 28-year-old male was scheduled to appear in provincial court on April 1, while a 25-year-old female — who was arrested late on March 31 — is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Monday, April 4.

“The investigation also led to the recovery of the firearm used in the offence. The deceased and the two charged (persons) were all known to each other,” police said. “This incident is not gang-related.”
