The organization-wide success continued on Thursday night as both the Bantam and Midget Mustangs came away with commanding wins over the Swift Current Rampage in South Sask Lacrosse League action.
The Bantam Mustangs scored four times in the first period on their way to an 8-2 win to open the night’s action at Mosaic Place before the Midget squad picked up a 5-0 win in the nightcap.
Bantam Mustangs 8, Swift Current 2
Colton Ebbett scored twice while Liam Fitzpatrick and Rowan Calvert each had single goals in the first period as the Mustangs took a 4-2 lead.
Carter Michaluk scored the lone goal of the second period before Dalton Cushway added a pair of third-period markers to extend Moose Jaw’s led to 7-2. Michaluk closed out scoring with 15 seconds remaining in the game.
Calvert and Cushway had two assists each, as did Ashton Glova.
Walker Williams and Luke Andrews were in goal.
The Bantam Mustangs are back in action May 21 when they host Regina.
Midget Mustangs 5, Swift Current 0
Caelan Fitzpatrick’s goal only 54 seconds into the game would stand as the winner, as Bryden Kerr and Mac Simpson combined to pick up the rare lacrosse shutout.
Fitzpatrick finished the game with two goals and two assists while Atley Calvert added a goal and an assist.
Ethan Peters and Kirk Mullen had Moose Jaw’s other goals.
Next game for the Midget Mustangs is May 23 when they host Weyburn.
