Assiniboia RCMP investigating fatal semi versus SUV collision near Mossbank

The Feb. 13 collision at the Mossbank junction along Highway 2 resulted in one driver announced dead on scene, another transported to hospital

At approximately 6:36 p.m. on Feb. 13, the Assiniboia RCMP detachment received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 2 south of the Mossbank junction. 

The collision involved a semi unit and an SUV, but no further details have been provided.

RCMP officers responded to the report immediately alongside local EMS, but on arrival the driver of the SUV was declared deceased by EMS at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the SUV has been identified as a 62-year-old male from Regina, Sask., and his family has since been notified by police.

The driver of the semi was taken to hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

No further details around the incident have been disclosed, and the Assiniboia RCMP detachment is continuing to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
