The ACT/UCT Local 1027 service club recently showed it's support for Peacock Collegiate's Annual Polar Bear Run with a donation of $500.
The Polar Bear Run raises funds for cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation.
The cheque was presented by club President Mark Gilliland and Youth Representative Sebasten Halvorsen to teachers Meagan Erickson and Renee Verge, as well as some Grade 11 math students who walked laps around Peacock Collegiate every morning to show support for the cause.
"We are more than pleased to help with this. Every family has been touched in some way by cancer," said Gilliland.
