Access Labour Day Car Show draws big crowds for another wild success

Hundreds of classic cars were on view on the holiday Monday, with even more visitors touring the display

REGINA — Wandering the many rows of shiny autos on a sunny Labour Day Monday was exactly where Regina’s car enthusiasts wanted to be this year.

The Labour Day Show N’ Shine, hosted by Access Communications, returned to the Queen City for it's 14th annual show on Monday, welcoming as big a crowd as any other year in memory.

More than 500 entries showed, including cars from every era and in every state of restoration — plus, other drive-ables like motorcycles, vintage tractors, stock racecars, and vintage pull-behind campers as well.

The show also had face-painting, free balloons and ice cream for the upcoming generation of car lovers.

Numerous Saskatchewan clubs were in amongst the crowds, including the Regina Antique Auto Association, Moose Jaw’s Those Guys Car Club and Next Gen Car Club, and the Collectors Car Club of Saskatchewan.

Proceeds from the event, including the gate admission and concession sales, are donated to the Regina & District Food Bank, and organizers felt confident this year’s donation will be as sizable as ever.
