MOOSEJAWTODAY.COM -- The city of Moose Jaw took advantage of one final opportunity to send off their Western Hockey League champions in style on Wednesday morning.

And it didn’t stop there.

As the Moose Jaw Warriors made their way from the Moose Jaw Events Centre to Regina International Airport for a flight to Saginaw, Michigan and the Memorial Cup, hundreds of fans once again lined Manitoba Street to cheer on their heroes.

Here’s a sampling of what that looked and sounded like, despite it being just after 7 a.m..

Thing is, there was plenty more support once the Warriors arrived in Regina, first with a rather unique welcome to the airport….

And not long after when members of the Saskatchewan Roughriders presented the team with some special swag, including a signed football offering congratulations and good luck.

From there, it was off to Saginaw…

… with the Warriors to practice on Thursday before playing their first game of the Memorial Cup on Friday at 5:30 p.m. when they take on the host Saginaw Spirit. The contest can be found on TSN or you can catch James Gallo’s call on Country 100.
