89 new COVID-19 cases, 111 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (20), Far North East (13), Regina (12), South Central (11), North West (9), North Central (6), Central East (5), South East (5), Far North West (4), North East (2), and Central West (1)

There are 89 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on June 4, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (20), Far North East (13), Regina (12), South Central (11), North West (9), North Central (6), Central East (5), South East (5), Far North West (4), North East (2), and Central West (1). 

Seven of the 11 new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

One new case is pending residence information. 

Three cases have been assigned to the North West (2) and Far North West (1) zones.

There are now 47,186 reported cases, including 1,292 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 129 (10.5 per 100,000).  

There are no new deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 543.

As of June 3, 11,119 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,686), Saskatoon (1,830), South East (1,088), South Central (800), North West (647), Central East (609), North Central (505), South West (384), Far North West (258), Central West (111), North East (67), Far North East (65), and Far North Central (1). There are 68 screened VOCs with residence pending.

New lineage results were reported for 85 VOC today. Of the 5,879 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 5,656 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 181 are P.1 (Brazilian), 32 are B.1.617 (Indian) and 10 are B.1.351 (SA).

An additional 15,633 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 770,463. 

The 15,633 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Regina (4,632), Saskatoon (4,446), South East (1,185), Central East (1,041), North Central (889), South Central (877), South West (551), North East (439), North West (358), Central West (351), Far North West (301), Far North East (253), and Far North Central (4). There were 306 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 101 people in hospital. Eighty people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (28), Regina (22), North West (12), North Central (6), Central East (3), South East (3), South Central (2), Far North West (1), North East (1), Central West (1), and South West (1). Twenty-one people are in intensive care, including two out-of-province transfers from Manitoba, in the following zones: Saskatoon (10), Regina (6), Central East (2), South West (2), and North Central (1).

One hundred and eleven more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 45,351 recoveries.

There were 2,599 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on June 3. To date, 870,689 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
