The province has seen an increase in demand for the COVID-19 vaccine.

The provincial government says that 80 per cent of all eligible residents have now received their first dose of the vaccine. Seventy-one percent of eligible residents have received two doses.

Since announcing the proof of vaccination or negative test requirement for provincial and Crown employees, as well as for businesses and event venues, Saskatchewan has seen a noticeable increase in vaccinations.

According to the government, first doses more than doubled in the past week compared to the week before. From September 10-16, the province administered 15,358 vaccinations, including 7,052 first doses. From September 17-23, the province administered 25,958 vaccinations, including 14,801 first doses.

That is a 69 per cent increase, week-over-week.
