60 new COVID-19 cases reported, public health restrictions to be removed July 11

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (27), Regina (9), North West (9), Far North West (4), North Central (4), South Central (3), South East (2), Far North East (1), and Central West (1)

With over 70 per cent of residents over the age of 18 having received their first dose, and 69 per cent of all residents over the age of 12 having received their first dose, Saskatchewan is announcing that the full implementation of Step 3 of the Re-Opening Roadmap will occur on Sunday, July 11.

That means that as of Sunday, July 11, all public health orders will be removed. This includes the removal of the province-wide mandatory masking order, and the removal of limits on events and gathering sizes.


There is one new death to report today in the 70 to 79 age group from the North West zone. 

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 563.

There are 60 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on June 20, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (27), Regina (9), North West (9), Far North West (4), North Central (4), South Central (3), South East (2), Far North East (1), and Central West (1).  

One of the new cases in the South Central is located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Four cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North East (2), Far North West (1), and South East (1) zones. 

There are now 48,441 reported cases, including 743 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 69 (5.7 per 100,000).  

As of June 19, 11,955 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,772), Saskatoon (2,075), South East (1,127), South Central (884), North West (775), Central East (641), North Central (613), South West (400), Far North West (291), Central West (144), Far North East (82), North East (79), Far North Central (1). There are 71 screened VOCs with residence pending.

Two hundred and twenty-four new lineage results were reported for Variants of Concern today. Of the 6,814 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 6,417 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 282 are Gamma (P.1), 105 are Delta (B.1.617.2) and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

As of end of day Saturday, June 19, there were an additional 16,084 vaccinations administered in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 997,818.

The additional 16,084 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (3,800), Regina (2,770), Central East (1,978), South East (1,827), North East (1,027), North Central (842), North West (736), South Central (676), Far North West (612), Central West (612), South West (465), Far North East (165), and Far North Central (10). There were 564 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 79 people in hospital. Sixty-seven are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (27), Regina (17), North West (9), North Central (7), South Central (4), Central East (2), and Far North West (1). Twelve people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (6), Regina (4), North Central (1), and Central East (1). 

Seventy-six more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 47,135 recoveries.

There were 1,384 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on June 19. To date, 901,272 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
