56 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 48 recoveries

There are two new deaths to report today. The provincial total is now at 581.

There are 56 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on August 5, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (17), South East (15), Far North West (5), Regina (4), Far North Central (2), Far North East (2), North Central (2), South West (2), South Central (2), North West (1), and Central West (1).

One of the new cases in the South Central is located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Three cases are pending residence information.  

There are now 50,251 reported cases, including 503 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 51 (4.2 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,372 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,833), Saskatoon (2,157), South East (1,156), South Central (891), North West (872), Central East (654), North Central (645), South West (416), Far North West (337), Central West (150), Far North East (88), North East (86), and Far North Central (4). There are 83 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 3,861 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,422,820.

There are 53 people in hospital. Forty-two people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (18), North Central (12), Regina (8), North West (1), Far North West (1), South Central (1), and South East (1). Eleven people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (4), Regina (4), and North Central (3).

Forty-eight more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 49,167 recoveries.

There were 1,764 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 968,564 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
