53 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 40 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Regina (13), South West (10), Saskatoon (6), Far North West (5), North Central (5), Far North East (3), Central West (3), and North West (1), with seven cases pending residence information

There is one new death to report today in the 40 to 49 age group from the North West zone. 

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 570.

There are 53 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 7, 2021.

The new cases are located in the following zones: Regina (13), South West (10), Saskatoon (6), Far North West (5), North Central (5), Far North East (3), Central West (3), and North West (1). 

Seven cases are pending residence information.  

Two cases were re-assigned to the following zones: Regina (1) and South East (1). 

Seven cases were found to be out-of-province residents and were removed from the following zones: Regina (4), Far North East (1), North West (1), and Saskatoon (1). 

One case, a Saskatchewan resident tested out-of-province, was added to the Saskatoon zone.

There are now 49,039 reported cases, including 319 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 31 (2.6 per 100,000).  

As of July 6, 12,231 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,813), Saskatoon (2,127), South East (1,146), South Central (889), North West (836), Central East (651), North Central (633), South West (409), Far North West (324), Central West (149), Far North East (87), North East (80), and Far North Central (4). There are 83 screened VOCs with residence pending.

There were no new lineage results reported for Variants of Concern today. Of the 7,515 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 6,816 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 385 are Gamma (P.1), 304 are Delta (B.1.617.2) and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 13,719 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,247,253. 

The additional 13,719 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (4,050), Regina (3,311), North West (1,620), North Central (1,008), South East (811), Central East (730), North East (561), South Central (329), Central West (311), South West (279), Far North East (153), Far North West (130), and Far North Central (6). There were 420 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 64 people in hospital. Fifty-four people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (23), Regina (12), North Central (7), North West (4), Central East (3), South Central (3), Central West (1), and South East (1). Ten people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (4), Regina (3), North Central (2), and North West (1). 

Forty more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 48,150 recoveries.

There were 2,396 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 6. To date, 927,628 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.
